About Payal Khanchandani
Dear friend,
I have been blessed with a special purpose in this world: to help women lose weight so they can feel good and confident about themselves and, as a result, better their relationship with their loved ones. Insecurities with weight always show insecurities in other areas of life too.
It warms my heart to know that you are here, reading this message. I hope to build a meaningful and lasting connection with you through our virtual interactions.
Your presence here means a lot to me, and I value your time and your personhood. Allow me to tell you a little about myself.
My Background
I was an over weight teenager. I’ve also been pretty much in between sizes my entire life! From S to XXl , I always had all the sizes in my wardrobe because I had a rollercoaster relationship with my weight.
I fell in love with Fitness when I was 17 years old. That was roughly the time I was transitioning from school to college and I wanted to lose all my excess weight after I finished my 12th boards! I used to spend more time at the gym than anywhere else.. Being a foodie, gaining weight was so easy 🙁 It took me 3 months to reach my ideal weight and I realized my confidence level had increased as a result of the weight loss. I felt better connected with myself, had higher self morale, and felt really good about myself.
I managed to maintain that weight (+/- 5kgs) till I got married. Post that, we all know how it goes. Too many responsibilities, and lack of motivation, and I found myself slowly gaining weight. Out went the confidence and self-love and in came the criticism when I would look at myself in the mirror. Two years later I had my baby girl, while I was super happy, I was also scared and my fear wasn’t about managing a newborn, it was about how soon can I start to lose the weight I had gained. Over a year later, I pushed myself to start working out again, I joined a gym, took PT and I took my baby there who would be in her car seat watching me but I made sure I never skipped a session. Within 6 months, I was back to being fit again.
Self Discovery
I decided I wanted to work again and even though my daughter was almost 3 then, I needed to find myself again. I was a banker so I managed to get a good job at a private bank but the hours was gruelling. I would leave at 7:30am and come back only by 8pm , with no proper breakfast or lunch in place. The stress at work was pretty high as well and even though I loved what I was doing, it took a toll on me. I started to gain weight again and this time at a rapid speed, I was up by 5kgs in literally 3 weeks and I decided to get a check up done. I was diagnosed with hypo thyroid. No matter how much I tried to control my weight, the weight was definitely out of control.
I went to a couple of top endocrinologists to check if I could reverse it but I was told its hereditary as well as lifestyle disorder, so I needed to take external medication lifelong. I wasn’t ok to do that especially since I knew I wanted to have a second child but my gynac advised me to first manage my thyroid and then plan later. I knew I had to reverse this , when I’m determined to do something, I ensure that I put in all my efforts to make sure I get it done.
The first thing that I needed to do was to change my lifestyle , which means if I couldnt manage the stress at work, the long hours, I needed to quit my job and that’s exactly what I did. (Now when I coach, I don’t ask women to quit their jobs 🙂 I work around their health by giving them super simple techniques which I didnt know at that time existed) I had a firm mindset so I did whatever it took and managed to reverse my thyroid the same year. I again started to focus on myself to lose weight till I got pregnant with my second child and there we go again, weight gain 🙂
Re-education
Second time around weight loss was challenging but I didnt give up , I could see many women around me struggling just as I was and I wanted to help them and guide them and that’s when I started working towards a permanent solution. I wanted to create a space for women , who would come in, destress, workout , interact with other women, kind of like an offline community where they could be themselves, focus on their mind, their body and in 2012 my journey of being an Entrepreneur started.
I’m an MBA but because I wanted to kickstart my career in Fitness , I went back as a student, to learn, to understand the human body, the anatomy, completed numerous certifications from Bangkok, Singapore & India. I built my business around my passion for fitness which helped me create a clear pathway to achieving my goal of becoming a Fitness entrepreneur and launching my fitness studio (Fitness Mania Studio, Mumbai) for women in 2012 focussing on Women’s Nutrition and Fitness. For almost 9 years I kept learning and implementing with the aim of empowering women through better health and self-focus. I remember this one time I was doing a Functional trainer Certification from FTI (Functional Training Institute – Australia) and to pass that certification we were required to do battle rope non stop for 5 mins and kettlebell swings for 5 mins.
Except for me and one another trainer, no one even tempted to do it. It required a lot of strong mindset to believe that it can be done and after almost 3 months of grit and practice I attempted this in one shot and passed. The only woman in my batch to do it. If you have the mindset to achieve something, no one has the power to stop you from achieving it.
Personal Development Journey
In 2021 I came across this FB ad which focused on procrastination and how to achieve bigger goals and I knew I wanted to do bigger in life and after I attended that training program by Success Gyan, I realised I’m playing small. I could impact so many women across India. I enrolled in a 6 month Journey called Way of the Champion with Thaddeus Lawrence (Asia’s leading Success Coach) who focused on personal development , championship mindset and championship energy and that created a big shift in me.
I got into coaching digitally the same year with another mentor of mine Siddharth Rajsekar, India’s leading digital coach and launched my online community Your Transformation Hub to reach out to more women who needed help to lose weight but were stuck in the weight loss-weight gain loop and unable to maintain their weight. Both are still my mentors till date.
In 2022 June I did my Train The Trainer Certification and in November completed Making the Stage. I got the opportunity to train amongst the best with Blair Singer, Mac Attaram, Larry and Zoltan. I continued to do online certifications with Blair through Success Gyan, to continue my journey of self development. After attending MMI (Millionare Mind Intensive) in January 2023 and joining the Quantum Leap and continuing my learning journey I realised with all the knowledge I have, I need to share more out there. I wanted to add more value to people’s lives so they can create better versions of themselves.
The Tough Decision
Being a nutritionist I know that food plays an important role in losing weight and being a fitness trainer, I know that workout is also equally important but the fact is if you don’t have the discipline, the focus and the self-love , you will always be on a roller-coaster ride with your weight. That’s where the mind-body connect comes in. You can’t eat the right food if you can’t manage your emotions, You can’t work out everyday if you don’t love yourself enough , You can’t enjoy great relationships if you’re not happy with yourself first.
Through my work and personal experiences, I have learned a lot about health, wellness, and personal development. I have a passion for sharing this knowledge with others and helping people live their best lives.
I believe that by staying connected and supporting each other, we can all achieve our goals and reach our full potential. That’s why I’m excited to connect with you and share my journey with you.
So make sure to follow me on social media and stay in touch. I can’t wait to get to know you and support you on your journey towards living a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life.
