Change is inevitable! What is in your hands is what changes and how it changes. You are the owner of your mind, body, and reactions to the things happening around you. One of those changes for many women, especially married women, is to transform their mind set which would, in turn, help them transform their Lifestyle. This content is for all those women who feel that transformation takes a lot of time and they do not have that much time to give. Yes, transformation does take time but spending few minutes with yourself every day for certain practises is always worth it. Below are few easy ways in which you can transform your mind set.
- Affirmations
Affirmations are sentences aimed to affect the conscious and the subconscious mind so that it helps in changing the behaviour or thinking patterns of an individual. Eg “I am confident and my voice is important in this world” or “My mind and body are in complete alignment” or “A happy, joyful life is being created for me right now”. Affirmations reform you and your habits making you a better person and most importantly bring in belief in yourself. All you have to do is repeat each affirmation in the morning, 10-15 times. Choose affirmations that are congruent to you, otherwise if you don’t relate to it, you won’t see or feel the difference. Your actions follow accordingly.
- Meditation
Meditation is a practice that has been followed in India for ages. Meditation helps in increasing calmness, better immunity, improves your mood, memory and enhances your creativity and productivity. This can help embrace the changes in your life and can make you happier.
- Eating Healthy
Mind-set and fitness are related to various factors one ‘of which is your food intake. Eating healthy is extremely important for a healthy Lifestyle. No matter where you are working, how late you are working or whether you’re a home maker who eat post winding up everything, eating late is damaging each and every cell in your body. Eating on time can balance your physical and mental wellness as proper nutrition gives you the energy required to complete all your tasks. Fruits and vegetable intake should be high followed by a clean source of protein and pure good fats.
- Sleep well
Sleep is a very important element in everyone’s life. Getting 7-8 hours of sleep is a must. Lack of sleep can make you feel groggy, exhausted and increases cortisol level which makes it difficult to lose weight as well. Sleeping well makes you get ready for the next day’s activities and keeps you happy and active.
- Be with Nature
Nature has proven to uplift one’s mood. So go for walks in the early morning, basking in the sunlight and getting some fresh air to get you kick started for the day. Having plants around your workspace can also help in uplifting your mood.
- Tweak your morning routine
Every woman, at one point in time, gets bored of the same routine that she has been following for years, why can’t it change? When you have decided to do something for yourself, kick that old routine out and do something that you love every day, squeeze in some small activity in your morning schedule that can help you throughout the day, it could be the small walk in your garden, having a special tea while you write your journal or listening to some music.
- Be grateful
Look on the brighter side of life and take some time to appreciate yourself and thank people, write down things that you are happy about like pets, small achievements, and the beauty of nature or family, could be anything but pen it down. This can help you ignore the negative side of life which makes you mentally stronger.
- 10 minutes of any physical activity that you love
Take out a minimum of 10 minutes on daily basis to spend time on those activities that you love, be it dancing, jogging, running, gymming or yoga. Even the smallest physical activity induces an adrenaline rush which makes you happier and keeps you fit.
- Learn the art of letting go
Women sometimes tend to overload their mind. Negative talks or thinking too much about little things or holding on to feelings or hurt and pain. Learn to let go, learn to let go only because you want yourself to be happy and free. Do not care what others think of you, that is their opinion not yours. Focus on what you think about yourself and be the best version of yourself.
- Learn to Say No
Be mindful about agreeing to some chores. Pause and think if you have time, patience and need to do that chore. You don’t have to sacrifice your time for some non-essential work. Remember, saying no will not change a thing about your respect or what they think of you. Believe in yourself and bring up your self-worth.
- Get an accountability partner
Two is better than one. Be accountable to someone else with your actions and goals and vice versa. If the two of you are on the same path, the same journey, it is easier to work on your mind set. You will get motivation as well as stay consistent.
- Create Boundaries
Last but not the least, create boundaries for yourself. It will be difficult with your loved ones but you are important too. Don’t go out of your boundaries to do something that you will not be even thanked for. Create boundaries in your workspace as well as at home. No one should take you for granted, believe that and it will happen. You will become a much happier person at the end of the day. All these practises can help you transform your mind but being consistent is the key. Therefore transform your mind, transform your body and live the life you want!
